Hazard Warning

Hazard Warning is a collaborative project by three crime writers, Clare Littleford, Rod Duncan and Sally Spedding. It grew out of 24-8, the East Midlands Regional Writers' Tour held in October and November 2003. 24-8 brought together twenty four writers from eight cities and counties to present innovative events at venues throughout the region. Each writer was commissioned to write a new piece of work to be performed at events and published on the 24-8 website.

Hazard Warning awarded a grant by Arts Council England

The Hazard Warning group was keen to continue their collaboration, and developed plans for a further tour to launch the group as a regular collaboration. Arts Council England awarded Hazard Warning a grant in 2004, enabling the group to organise a national tour, produce publicity material and establish a website.

The Hazard Warning Roadshow

How far do you dare to go? Three novelists, Clare Littleford, Rod Duncan and Sally Spedding take you on a journey into the dark recesses of the mind. From an afternoon in inner city Nottingham to a deadly chase down the M1, and night amid the burned stubble of the Northamptonshire cornfields.

Linked by the motorway, three interwoven stories speed towards a rain-lashed darkness. The scarred tarmac carries warnings if any choose to head them. But this is no ordinary day. This is Halloween. Samhain. The Last Harvest. Crossing the threshold between day and night.
